About NYWC

The National Youth Workers Convention (NYWC) has been training, equipping, and encouraging youth workers for more than 45 years as part of Youth Specialties.

This four-day event draws youth workers from around the world and from every denomination. NYWC attracts paid youth pastors, volunteer youth workers, youth ministry students, spouses of youth workers, and just about anyone else interested in helping teenagers find and follow Jesus.

In addition to more than 80 seminars, NYWC also features worship, entertainment, and speakers who inspire, encourage, and enlighten attendees. We curate a variety of perspectives and experiences from all across the country, helping attendees explore big ideas and figure out how to apply them to their own youth ministry contexts.

Twice during NYWC we’ll gather for YS Explores sessions, where we curate a variety of speakers’ perspectives and experiences from all across the country, helping us explore big ideas and helping you process what they mean for your own youth ministry context. This year we’re exploring schools and service:

  • How youth ministries can partner with schools
  • How serving impacts the spiritual formation of teens

When you’re not in Big Room or seminar sessions, you will be able to explore the YS Exhibit Hall, which is the largest exhibit hall solely focused on resources for youth ministry such as camps, mission trip opportunities, fundraising ideas, and more. You can also browse the YS Store, where you’ll find curriculum, books for leaders and students, and books from the amazing speakers at NYWC. And, if you’re not too tired after all that, you will want to stay up for the Late Night sessions!

This year, we’re bringing the entire family of youth workers to one city for NYWC – Memphis, Tenn., Nov. 16-19 2017. It’s going to be an amazing time of perspectives from all sides of the youth ministry table, and we’ve got a chair saved just for you. We hope you can join us!

It takes a village to raise a child. And it takes an amazing team of staff and volunteers to make NYWC happen. You can see the YS staff here.
